BackFULFILL THE SAFETY MEASURES
Batteries emit explosive gases during charging. Areas, in which charging is made, must be adequately ventilated.
Always wear protective glasses while working on and aru the battery.
While dismantling a battery from the vehicle first dismantle the (-) negative lead terminal, and while installing the battery in the vehicle, first connect the (+) positive lead terminal.
Don’t connect or dismantle direct circuits during charging. Always close charge and test devices first while connecting or removing cable heads in order to avoid sparks.
Don’t bend the diluted batteries to a side more than 45 C. Batteries contain sulphuric acid which may cause serious burns and for that reason, wash the contact spot with plenty of water in case of contact with acid.
Wait until the frozen battery is heated up to 15 Co before connecting it to the charging gear.
Don’t install the battery in the vehicle before seeing that the voltage of the battery is in the right direction.
Keep the battery and electrolyte away from children.
Read and comply with the instructions.
In cases of the operation of the vehicle by jumper cable, first connect the cables to the positive (+) poles of both batteries , then connect the other cable to the negative (-) poles of the rescuer vehicle or defect vehicle. The connection must be made at an area as far as possible from the chassis to which the ground cable is connected. Reverse the same operation following the start of the vehicle to operate.
FULFILL THE SAFETY MEASURES
Ca Ca maintenance free, batteries with diluted charge may be stored for 6 months while hybrid batteries may be stored for 3 months without loosing their charge. The batteries shall be damaged if they are stored in discharged condition. All batteries must be kept in a cool and dry place. Besides, diluted batteries must absolutely be stored by placing a seperator (for example styropor) among them if they are to be placed in a flat position by being superposed on one another. Top of the batteries must be kept clean.
The principle of the one which enters first exits the last must be followed. The dates of leaving the factory and entrance to the factory must be stated on the stack. From the code number 280421 on the battery shows that has been produced on the 21st day of April of the year 2008 in the production line no. 2.
The requirement of recharging in the Ca-Ca diluted batteries with calcium.
Once every six months if the average storing temperature is under 27 C,
Once every three months if the average storing temperature is over 27 C,
The battery must also be recharged when the open circuit voltage of the battery has fallen to 12.4 volt. This method is an alternative to the options (1) and (2).
These periods are approximately 1/2 in the batteries with hybrid diluted batteries .
Attention: Don’t allow overflowing of acid or the temperature to exceed 52 C while charging. If the temperature rises, reduce the charge current or stop charging until the battery cools. High temperature of the charging gear damages the battery. .
FULFILL THE SAFETY MEASURES
While connecting a battery, always control the following factors before testing the battery .
Displaced, loosened or torn off poles, cracked broken box or capd
Displaced, broken plugs or the plugs of which holes have been closed, clogged gas outlet holes..
If the battery is not damaged continue further with the next step .
Measurement of the level of charge
Measure the open circuit voltage with an accurate voltameter
PS: the state of charge of a battery , either installed in the vehicle or outside the vehicle , shall never be measured if it has just been charged recently. In that case there is a surface charge with a misleading high voltage . Dischage the battery with 15 x !5A or, if the battery is in the vehicle , by keeping the long headlights open for 15 seconds, for the purpose of taking off the surface charge..
If the state of charge:
is at least 75 % (approximate voltage = 12.4 *V) step forward to the loading test.
is less than 75 % charge the battery according to the specified method before the loading test
Voltage and intensities may have different values depending on the design of the battery.
The evaluation of battery test under load and the results thereof is dependent on the system of the devices used. The evaluation of the loading test and the results thereof shall be made according to the instruction on the device.
The control of the electrical equipment of the vehicle
While installing a new battery or when there is a defect battery, control the electrical gear of the vehicle . The most widespread error that may arise in the vehicle is extreme charge or undercharge. Measure whether the output voltage of the alternator is between 13.8 -14.4 volt for normal hybrid batteries while flooring. A voltage output of 13.8 14.8V is suitable for Ca-Ca batteries (in a vehicle with 12V).
PS: In the vehicles in which the electronic circuit and codings incur memory loss in case of taking the battery off, avoid the system to be interrupted by activating a second battery or a special device before dismantlng the battery .
FULFILL THE SAFETY MEASURES
The length of charging batteries of which plug (cap) can be opened is dependent on the intensity of the electrolyte in all cells being 1.280 g/cm3 between 20 Co 35 Co. Charging shall be stopped when that value has been reached. The electrolyte level shall be adjusted at the maximum level in the battery , which has been let rest for half an hour and then it shall be installed in the vehicle after its top has been wiped. Batteries, which wait as being charged in the diluted state, or discharged batteries that come from the customer shall be charged with the currents and in the periods of time given in the charts below according to the charge levels. However charging may not be at the desired level in used batteries .In these batteries , the realized charge shall be deemed to be sufficient if corrected intensity in the last two hours of charging has not changed. Charging shall be applied according to voltage values in fully closed batteries of which plug is not opened.
Be sure that charging equipment isn’t open.
Determine charging level in the batteries .
Connect battery to the charging device. Positive and negative poles must be connected to positive and negative poles respectively. Take care for not making pole connection in reverse order.
After charging, first shut the charging device before separating the terminals
Measure open circuit voltage and eye intensities in order to determine whether additional charging is required
You can charge more than one battery in parallel at the same time and with the same capacity.
SELECTION OF THE BATTERY AND INSTALLATION PROCESS
Choose the right battery , depending on the desired vehicle to be used, from the lists in our catalogue in which specifications of the battery are stated. Measures, cold starting current and capacity values are the most important selection criteria. Dilute and, if necessary, charge dry batteries according to the method defined above.
As far as batteries are concerned which wait for diluted charging, recharge them according to the method described above if open circuit voltage is under 12.50 Volt when temperature is less than 4 Co.
If ambient temperature is high, recharge the battery according to the described method when open circuit voltage falls under 1240 volt.
Mark cables with (+) / – before taking off the old battery in order to connect the new battery correctly.
Measure the battery voltage value and direction and be sure that they are correct, control and clean the cable connections and battery tray carefully. Place the new battery and attach and tighten the connections.
Connect the positive (+) cable first and then connect the negative (-) ground cable. Tighten it carefully. Be especially careful while tightening the battery poles laterally since extreme tightening shall damage the poles.
ONLY PURE WATER MUST BE PUT IN THE BATTERY OF WHICH ELECTROLYTE LEVEL HAS FALLEN.
